"Never doubt that a handful of committed people can change the world- indeed it is the only thing that ever has." -Margaret Mead
With the past couple days of rain, rain, rain! I found time to meditate and contemplate our mysterious mother earths gift of WATER. It's an element we use every day of our lives, our need for it is only second behind our breath! How often do we think about it? Where it comes from, how was it made- the 3 different unique states of liquid, solid, and gas...... where has it been, where will it go? who and what has it traveled through since the beginning of time? WOW WATER WATER EVERYWHERE! ....and not a drop to drink. Around the planet we are using our sacred oceans, rivers and lakes as toilets and garbage cans. Did you know they found a second great garbage patch of plastic? siiiggghhhhhh......
Bringing awareness to this cause of protecting Mother Earth and her sacred resources is by far the most important thing we can do.
Water is a reflection of our soul- it allows us to look into it, and see an image of ourselves, and the cosmos reflected back to us, with a slightly different perspective. Water everywhere has traveled the world, been into the heavens, has rained down on us, fed the plants and animals, sunk into the earth, and made its way back to the mountains ,rivers and lakes. The water cycle and life cycle are one. If we fail to realize this, we are nothing.
Japanese scientist Masaru Emoto in his book, "Hidden messages in Water" was able to prove that water collects imprints from all the words spoken to it, sang to it, prayed to it, and written to it! Positive words, in every language, created beautiful crystal structures when the water samples were frozen; and negative words such as can't and you fool!, resulted in ugly brownish crystal formations. The words LOVE and GRATITUDE had the greatest impact on the water samples. There was even a study where monks sat around a polluted lake and meditated and chanted for one week. At the end of the week they took a water sample and the quality of the water increased drastically! With this being said, We are made up of 70% water, so every positive thought , action, word, or silent prayer creates a high beautiful vibration in and around us.
Allow the amazing potential of water to refresh you, nourish you, purify, and transform you. Say a pray or blessing before you eat. Use biodegradable soaps and cleaning detergents. Honor the divine flow of life and know that within you, and even in a single atom, holds the entire universe!
I hope you find the time to meditate on the wisdom and mystery of water in and around you this week.
Namaste,
Ananda
